Loan Originator
As a Mortgage Loan Originator, you will guide clients through the mortgage process, from application to closing, ensuring a smooth and efficient experience. You will work closely with internal teams and external partners to provide clients with the best possible mortgage solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Meet with clients to assess their financial needs and recommend suitable loan products.
- Assist clients in completing the 1003 mortgage loan application and gathering necessary supporting documents.
- Analyze clients’ income, assets, and credit to determine eligibility and recommend appropriate loan options.
- Maintain a strong understanding of the organization’s loan products and stay updated on industry guidelines.
- Build and nurture relationships with real estate agents, developers, and other industry professionals to expand business opportunities.
- Review active loan files daily to ensure all required documents are submitted and respond promptly to any internal requests.
- Exercise professional judgment in evaluating potential borrowers and determining their fit for the organization.
- Communicate clearly with all parties involved in the transaction, to ensure a seamless process.
- Meet ongoing education requirements as mandated by the National Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS).
- Set clear expectations with clients and referral partners throughout the loan process.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
- NMLS Licensing: Must be licensed under the National Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS) and complete the yearly NMLS continuing education recertification course to keep the license in good standing.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with loan origination software, such as Ellie Mae Encompass or similar platforms.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational abilities and keen attention to detail.
- Analytical Skills: Proficient in analyzing financial data and calculating income.
- Multitasking: Able to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
