LOAN PROCESSOR
As a Mortgage Loan Processor, you will play a critical role in the mortgage application process by analyzing and verifying loan documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with banking guidelines. Your role is essential in moving applications efficiently through the pipeline and providing exceptional service to borrowers. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, analytical, and possess strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Application Analysis: Review and analyze mortgage applications to ensure completeness and compliance with all banking guidelines and requirements.
- Documentation Verification: Verify that all loan documentation is accurate and meets regulatory standards. Ensure that all required documents are gathered and properly processed.
- Communication: Interact with title companies, insurance agents, appraisers, and other professionals to obtain necessary documentation and information.
- Loan Compliance: Utilize knowledge of federal lending regulations to maintain compliance throughout the loan processing phase.
- Collaboration: Work closely with borrowers to collect and verify appropriate documentation and communicate effectively with all parties involved in the loan transaction.
- Credit and Collateral Review: Analyze credit reports and collateral documents and submit completed files to the Underwriting Department for approval.
- Condition Resolution: Address and clear loan conditions in a timely manner, ensuring clear and effective communication with the team.
- Customer Service: Provide exceptional service to borrowers, guiding them through the processing phase with professionalism and care.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of processing experience within the mortgage industry.
- Pipeline Management: Maintain an active pipeline in alignment with company standards and expectations.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with Ellie Mae Encompass, DU, LP, credit reporting interfaces, or similar platforms. Knowledge of Conventional, Jumbo, FHA, VA loans, and Hometown Heroes loan programs are essential.
- Communication Skills: Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients and colleagues.
- Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational abilities, with a keen attention to detail and a strong analytical mindset.
- Education: Associate’s degree or equivalent experience in the mortgage industry is preferred.
- Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience in mortgage processing, demonstrating a strong track record in managing loan files and ensuring compliance.
- Professional Demeanor: Demonstrated professional demeanor with exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Ability to interact effectively with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
